Description

Euro 1988 in Germany.

Holland is qualified and falls in a tough group with USSR, England and Republic of Ireland.

Their first game did not go as planned as they lost against USSR 1-0!

But then the Dutch team won against England in an easy  3-1 and int eh last game of the group won by 1 goal only against the Irishmen.

The knock out phase saw Holland facing Germany their biggest rival. In an epic game seeing 2 penalties given, one for each side, Holland beat their “enemies” at the very last moment of the game by a goal from Marco van Basten at the 88th minute!

It was then final time against … USSR! the Russians on their side had also a great tournament! And they were the favorite for the title having beaten Holland in the group stage.

However Euro 88 will remain forever in the Dutch football history as so far the only title still this little nation has won!

USSR was beaten 2-0 with a goal that still remains one of the best one of the history of football scored by Marco van Basten from an incredible angle.

Great team, great generation of players … Rijkaard, Gullit, Van Basten, Koeman …

This work features the kit Holland was then wearing.

Contains 11 field players and 1 flicking goalkeeper.
