With an exciting football led by their number 10 and captain Hagi, Romania reached the quarter finals and lost after an epic game against Sweden.
To reach the quarter finals they first finished on top of their group despite a heavy defeat against Switzerland 4-1. Their wins against the USA and Colombia.
Qualified for the round of 16 they would face Argentina, not the easiest draw! However their performance during that game was fantastic, the game was tight with lots of goals from both side ! After a 3-2 victory Romania qualified for the quarter finals against Sweden to only loose after a penalty shoot out ending a 2-2 game!
